Job Duties: Summary                                                                                    

The Company’s Supply Chain Manager/Director will be responsible for all Planning, Procurement, Supplier Management, Inventory Management and all Supply Chain related Contract Manufacturing Interface activities associated with both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production activities.


Industry Experience

  • Electronics manufacturing & distribution (e.g., computers, AV equipment, cell phones, networking or preferably RF-based telecommunications products)
  • Electromechanical manufacturing & distribution (e.g., telecommunications, appliances, medical devices)
  • PCBA / SMT manufacturing and electronic components sourcing – RF telecommunications preferred
  • Supply Chain Management associated with Contract Manufacturing
  • Strategic Procurement – Supplier Selection, Qualification, Negotiation, and Supplier Management
  • Materials Planning / Buying in support of manufacturing / production / Contract Manufacturing

Duties and Responsibilities

  • New Product Introduction (NPI):
  • Sourcing/availability of new and unique parts for all new programs
  • Develop selection criteria and drive the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional NPI teams 
  • New part & Bill Of Materials (BOM) review & approval
  • Supplier quotation – manage, document and insure compliance with quotes
  • Sourcing input to NPI milestone reviews
  • Input to NPI build plan management
  • NPI BOM costing
  • Strategic Sourcing
    • Supplier Selection of both new and second source suppliers and distributors
    • Supplier Qualification – collaboration w/ CM and other partners (Nova Group)
    • Commodity Group definition
    • Approved Supplier List (ASL) maintenance
    • Supplier Performance monitoring & management
    • Strategic Supplier definition
  • Supplier requirements forecasting
  • Transfer of consigned suppliers to CM turnkey supply arrangements
  • Implement strategic sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives to drive significant improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, and service levels 
  • Implement a supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals, and improvement initiatives
  • Material Planning
    • Develop processes for electronic planning of Nextivity consigned materials (ERP/MRP)
    • Establish pre-requisites for MPS/MRP electronically – Inventory, Sales Orders, Forecast, Purchase Orders, BOM – near 100% accuracy
    • Migrate from off-line to on-line processes (Expandable)
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools for all consigned materials
    • Plan all material requirements to support both NPI and Production (Contract Manufacturing) consigned materials
  • Manage material availability and shortage resolution in support of the CM build plan
    • MRP and Excel literate with the understanding of concepts and the changing nature of the information, as well as be detailed oriented and accurate.
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; plans inventory, and reserve positions
  • Purchasing
    • Working relationships with manufacturers, distributors, re-sellers, and internet search/purchasing (Spot market, DigiKey, Mouser, etc.)
  • Process Purchase Order’s (PO’s) for all requirements, including Centron (CM)
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurement requirements
  • Creates/releases Purchase Requisitions (PR) and purchases all requirements
  • Purchase order generation and release for all revenue related materials
  • Review all open POs and close as applicable
  • Verify delivery schedules and ensure all Proof Of Delivery (POD) info is received
  • Material receipt transactions
  • Incoming inspection of shipment content for internal orders
  • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
  • Sales Support, Warranty and Returns
    • Return Material Authorization (RMA) and returns (limited) processing
    • Coordinate timely response to warranty and non-warranty repair, refurbishment, and replacements
    • Manage inventory to support demo, advance replacements, and sales launch requirements
  • Engineering Change Management (Arena):
    • Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Bill of Materials (BOM) configuration and source info for production and NPI
    • Manage Excess and Obsolete (E&O) and End of Life (EOL) materials issues
  • Other duties as required.



Salary Range and Bonus Potential:

$100,000 - $150,000

Job Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years Supervisor/Manager experience; will be expected to guide and train a small Supply Chain management team
  • Minimum ten (10) years Supply Chain (Materials Planning / Sourcing) experience; progressive materials management / procurement roles
  • Experience as a liaison with a China contract manufacturing organization and willingness to work evening hours a plus


Education / Training

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution preferred.  Master’s Degree a plus.
  • APICS certified preferred
